厦门大学海洋与地球学院院徽由红绿蓝三原色构成，象征太阳、陆地和海洋，寓意自然万物和谐共生。
Produced using the three primary colors of red, green and blue, the logo is composed of the sun, the land, and the ocean, and means that everything on earth should live in harmony with nature.

1. 绿色图案代表陆地，形如树叶，亦似海豚，寓意地球之生命；
Shaped like not only a leaf but also a dolphin, the green part represents the land, and symbolizes life on planet earth.
2. 蓝色图案代表海洋，环抱左侧之绿色图案，寓意海洋孕育生命；
The blue part, adjoining the green part, represents the ocean, and symbolizes that the ocean is the source of life.
3. 红色圆心代表太阳，寓意阳光普照万物；
In the middle of the logo, the red solid circle is just like the sun shining all over the world.
